About this app

Access to affordable high-speed internet is essential for rural communities to compete in today’s economy.

Accurate connectivity data is the foundation for investments in broadband infrastructure.

Unfortunately, connectivity data provided by internet service providers is often inaccurate and inflated – leaving many rural communities overlooked and disconnected.

This app will help identify areas with low or no connectivity to help ensure adequate funding for broadband infrastructure is provided across the country.

App used to display metrics from around the world for comparison purposes. But that feature is now gone. I was able to use that feature once during our quorum court meeting to emphasize the dire lack of connectivity our county suffers in real time with approved data. Revised to 4 since the nature and intent was to advise national officials of the lack of credible broadband connectivity and I hope the app fulfills that goal...i will continue to use to seed that data.

Not sure what to think about this app yet. When I use the app SpeedTest I get results that are right on with the speed I am supposed to be getting. when I use Testit the results are about half the speed I'm supposed to be getting. It's not making sense to me at this point.

wont test wireless. Sure I get cellular at home, but its rate limited and throttled. I dont look forward to the time when when the telcos have us pay based on our usage. If you've had to use satellite internet you know what I'm worried about. Its funny that satelitte television never had thst type of payment model.
