I've had this app for two days now and works great. Two things: is there a way to make an "up next" list, so that when one podcast is over, it knows to switch to whichever one I want to listen to next? I would also love to see an offline version. This is so much easier than the workaround I was using before to get NPR podcasts on my Android, though, so I'm not complaining too much!
Wonderful app! Would be 5 stars if it didn't keep trying to get me to sign in! I don't want an algorithm guessing what I'm interested in. I enjoy the random experience, and when I want something specific, I can use "Explore." PLEASE take out those "sign in required" screens. That's commercial bullying behavior that is below a public organization like NPR.
This is a five star app when it is working. I use this app while commuting and it often works flawlessly. Recently it is crashing constantly on Android, and locks up completely. I've force stopped it, rebooted my phone, and finally Uninstalled and reinstalled it. That made it work for a little while, of course I lost all my stations and preferences, but it worked for less than a day before it started crashing and locking up again. Sure how they can fix it. In the meantime I have to find another podcast app
After the recent update the app seems to be crashing quite often which is frustrating and autostart function is not working as before. But overall awesome app for avid radio listeners, lets hope the fix will come soon
No longer works in Android auto. I loved this app for long car trips, but it no longer works. A recent update broke Android auto capability. When your bring up NPR one I get stuck with choose a story, but I can't select any stories. It still works great with headphones.
It's gotten worse since it came out. Lately it has been doing a very poor job of fetching new stories and keeping a list of the stories I've recently played. There is no way to signal that you are not interested in a certain story and often it will replay later even when skipped. Local stations choose what content to upload, and often the clips are poorly edited and sometimes they are given no context at all. My local station usually doesn't upload the local hourly news, which they often used to do.
This release addresses several issues affecting playback, and other miscellaneous bugs. Stories should no longer cutoff early and / or switch to the next story unprompted. Please keep the feedback coming and let us know if the experience has improved for you. Thank you for using NPR One!
