Welcome to the new release of the OC Bus App, a complete replacement of the previous mobile ticketing app by the Orange County Transportation Authority. The new OC Bus App gives you everything need to plan, pay, and ride using your smartphone. Purchase a single ride, a day pass or a 30-Day pass then activate your pass when you’re ready to ride. The new OC Bus App makes travel by bus in Orange County easier with more user-friendly features and navigation including color coded passes for each rider type, a larger QR code for easier scanning and in app notifications for bus changes. Simply download this free app, register your credit or debit card in our secure system and you’re ready to ride. For a smooth transition use the same email address used for the last OC Bus App version.

Ratings and reviews

I appreciate this app constantly striving to make improvements. It does surprisingly well as a replacement to using physical bus passes. However, the latest integration with the Google Pay method on the purchase screen is buggy. It just charged me $36 for trying to purchase a bundle of 6 rides because the confirmation screen didn't show up and I pressed the purchase button 2 more times to get it to work. Can you please fix this?

Used to crash often if you try to load it while running in background in the app list. My experience does not include college passes or senior passes. Edit 5/22: It received many updates over time and running smoothly. Edit 4/23: There appears to be a bug at least in Pixel 6 that does not display active 1d (promotion) passes until multiple refreshes.

This app regularly crashes on me when loading my pass through college. Additionally it can take a minute or 2 to load. This is unacceptable for an app designed to board a moving bus. Operators (rightly so) can sometimes be frustrated and it makes using public transit even harder than it already is. Fix the loading times, fix the app crashes. I wish I had a better review to give!
