The game was invented by a French aristocrat in the 17th century, leading to the name Solo Noble. The game is known simply as Solitaire in the United Kingdom. It is also referred to as Brainvita (especially in India). The most popular names though are Marble Solitaire and Peg Solitaire. It is similar to the Card Solitaire game that is played alone and involves removing cards one by one. Here you need to remove marbles or pegs or other small objects.
The objective of the iMarble game is to end up with just one marble using minimum time and moves. The game starts with a board with several holes of which all except one is filled with a marble. How To Play:
Goli is played by jumping marbles over one another and into empty spaces. Beginning with only one empty space, start the game by jumping one of the surrounding marbles into the space. Marbles must jump over one another to reach the empty space and can only jump horizontally or vertically. There are no diagonal jumps allowed and jumps cannot occur over multiple marbles. Each time you jump a marble to an empty space, the marble that was jumped over is removed from the board. Continue jumping marbles until no marbles can be moved.
The aim of the game is to have just one marble left on the board.

The first evidence of the game can be traced back to the court of Louis XIV, and the specific date of 1697, with an engraving made that year by Claude Auguste Berey of Anne de Rohan-Chabot, Princess of Soubise, with the puzzle by her side. The August, 1697 edition of the French literary magazine Mercure galant contains a description of the board, rules and sample problems. This is the first known reference to the game in print.
The standard game fills the entire board with pegs except for the central hole. The objective is, making valid moves, to empty the entire board except for a solitary peg in the central hole.
