The Open Risk Manual is an application developed and maintained by Open Risk. It aims to provide a comprehensive, detailed, authoritative collection of risk management resources that are easily accessible by anybody, anywhere.
Risk Management is a vast and ever expanding domain of knowledge. The required skills are applied, occasionally very technical and ever changing. This specialized nature of the knowledge base is not served fully by either traditional academic literature or classic publications in printed book form. Wikipedia comes frequently to the rescue of risk managers but there is a need for a more specialized, but similarly open, and collaborative wiki that focuses on risk management.
With this motivation, Open Risk developed and supports the Open Risk Manual. The categories of the Manual entries span a large range of risk management domains, portfolio management, sustainable finance and more.
The Manual is primarily a technical resource, constructed by and for professional risk or portfolio managers and in general people working with risk concepts in a professional capacity. Yet the Manual is open to anybody interested in understanding this important knowledge domain. The scope of the knowledge base is not fixed precisely. It spans the range of risk management practice, including financial risk management and more specialized quantitative approaches.
Last but not least, the Manual serves also the online knowledge base (wiki) supporting various open source libraries and platforms developed by Open Risk.
