Users can quickly access critical information accurately, without having to rely on memory or cumbersome textbooks.
With just a few taps, users have access to all the necessary data to care for a pediatric patient in the emergent setting, including weight-based and age specific medication dosages and equipment sizes.
Since many of the patients present with minimal known information, all the results can be calculated rapidly with only a known age, date-of-birth, weight, length, or height. Simply enter the known variable and the data is instantly calculated.
Developed by an Emergency Physician, this app minimizes the risk of medical errors allowing the provider to spend more time caring for the patient, and less time looking up and calculating doses.
It is a critical companion for any physician, nurse, paramedic, or medical trainee involved in the care of critically ill pediatric patients.

eBroselow SafeDose is a medication reference tool that provides mixing instructions, doses and drug administration information. After the caregiver chooses the patient’s weight and clinical need, the content is tailored to remove irrelevant information. The exact dose is provided visually in mg and mL – eliminating the need for math or calculators by the caregiver. This improves medication safety, reduces the cost of care, and improves clinical outcomes.
iMedicalApps said SafeDose is "useful and well designed... Undoubtedly, the potential for medication errors would be reduced if practitioners were to rely on the information provided by this app".
A research study published in the Journal of Pediatric Pharmacology and Therapeutics found that after less than 10 minutes of training, the use of eBroselow’s system increased the accuracy of medication doses prepared during simulated pediatric emergencies by nearly 25 percent, and completely eliminated clinically significant errors. The research also showed that use of the system, as compared to traditional processes, reduced the time required to prepare medication during an emergency
Used by hundreds of hospitals and many thousands of practitioners, all eBroselow SafeDose medical content is peer-reviewed for accuracy.

This application directly accesses our Clinical Standard Work (CSW) Pathways. At Seattle Children’s, clinical standard work pathways are a documented standard approach that guides practitioners when providing care to specific patient populations. These clinical pathways improve the quality of care through standardization of treatment based on evidence in the published medical literature and/or expert opinion. Pathways are presented in an easy-to-read
algorithm format. Deeper levels of information are accessed through the use of hyperlinks.
When developing these pathways, committees of experts from different disciplines review the evidence to reach a consensus about treatments that result in the best outcomes for patients. The committees draw on Children’s organization-wide improvement approach – called
Continuous Performance Improvement (CPI) – to implement pathways and support change
Each pathway features:
1. Step by step decision algorithms from admit to discharge
2. Inclusion/Exclusion Criteria: Defines whether a patient is appropriate for a given pathway
3. Ability to Test Knowledge: Self assessment earns Category II CME Credit
4. Explanation of Evidence Rankings: Links to complete bibliography and explanation of how evidence was ranked
5. Summary of Version Changes: Chronologic summary of version changes
6. Highlighted clinically important warnings / pitfalls of care
7. Access to rationale and expanded information via hyperlinks
8. Discharge Criteria
Medicine is an ever-changing science. As new research and clinical experience broaden our knowledge, changes in treatment and drug therapy are required.

High Definition Anterior & Posterior maps can be zoomed in/out and provide the essential dermatome landmarks.
Dermatomes App is an essential reference for neurologists, emergency physicians, family doctors, anesthesiologist, medical students, physiotherapists, chiropractors, osteopaths, and many other medical professionals.
A dermatome is an area of skin that is mainly supplied by a single spinal nerve. There are eight cervical nerves, twelve thoracic nerves, five lumbar nerves and five sacral nerves. Each of these nerves relays sensation (including pain) from a particular region of skin to the brain.
NOTE: *** Dermatomes are variable between individuals and the patter of sensory loss is usually less than the entire dermatome because of overlap. The map and landmarks presented in the Dermatomes App represent a consensus view drawn from numerous sources. ***
