Top 5 reasons for dying: 1. Looked at something....dead 2. Random dice roll...dead 3. Random choice of left or right is wrong... dead 4. You were walking then ... happens and ...dead 5. Did not have...dead
Wow, this is a great app. It does exactly what it sets out to do which is to play the Lone Wolf gamebook series. I appreciate the work that has gone into making the format work on a mobile device. Great things: keeping the art and rules the same. I really like the enforced honesty that is a side effect of the automated dice rolls- you can't fudge a roll to ensure a preferred outcome (I assume that if you change the automation to manual in the settings then you have a freer rein over the choices). And these books are hard! Especially with poor Combat Skill rolls. There's some minor things: the wording of "you drop the..." when you have eaten a meal, used a key etc is occassionally disconcerting. The action chart fills up with special items and inventory as you travel the books and there were a couple of items that I acquired but could not recall where from (the one that sticks out was the Brass Key from book 4: it sat in inventory taking up one of the 8 slots until I traded it to Alton in book 6. But could I remember if it had meaning before then?) And that's it. This was almost like reading the books and turning the pages only without the headache of stabbing a pencil into a randomized chart or forgetting to write down an important piece of info. This will get replays.
Very similar to a dungeons and dragons story game made easy for the average gamer. 👍
