Back to 5 stars? Nope... The "details link" disappeared AGAIN. Please fix this I will return to 5 stars then. This app gives RELEVANT news before the tv/radio news does. Ive even suprised my military-intel brother with this app and its contents. Great companion to the website :-) xperia z3v ver 4.4.4
The best for knowing what's happening on our Earth I need to know what's really going on in the world. This app will let you know when it happens. Usually way before it's on the news. Many things you won't see on the news that we want to know. I would've given five stars but occasionally you can not access details like right now. It usually gets fixed quickly.
Best World News Informational App Availible RSOE EDIS is a news source for the news tv networks either overlook, or are not allowed to report in a timely manner. Wish it was able to retain more than 30 events as its also great to track past events as well. Sometimes the events are so numerous you lose relavent data in a matter of a few hours or days. An increase or removal of the stored limit (or at least option to remove it) would fix that problem. Still it deserves a full five stars and I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to stay informed.
OK - but When the alerts show an update, with a sentence fragment, and you select it, you are taken to the original alert - not the updated one. Selecting "latest update" at the website gives the same results. Currently on alert 15 for Ebola in US but shows alert number 1 only. But, still good for new alerts.
Disaster Preparedness I think this is a great app to use as a help for preparing for disaster events that may come around your neck of the woods. "The prudent sees the evil and hides himself, but the naïve go on, and are punished for it" (Proverbs 22:3).
A fairly good application, but needs work First off, I like the simplicity of the design. The color coding and the brief summaries listed on the main page are great. However, there are some things I would suggest changing in a future update: Include a map like the one on the browser-based website; allow a setting for geographic location (country, continent, etc.); embed the expanded details within the app itself, instead of linking to a webpage. These would all substantially improve the functionality. For a free app, it works fine. But I would be willing to pay a few dollars for improvements.
Tsunami alerts are available today on the RSOE EDIS Notifier android application. Affected areas: Pacific Ocean, Hawaii and Caribbean region. If tsunami waves is observed , the message level is an Emergency (Level 5), if not observed tsunami waves, the message level will be Alert (Level 4).
