The update is far less user friendly. I recommended friends to join SECU in large part due to the efficiency and ease of use for this app. I don't want to swipe to see different accounts, I want to see them all. And when you swipe to the account, it only shows 3 recent transactions and you have to tap to see the rest, it also doesn't show the debited balance next to those transactions in that view. An additional step is now required to do so and it's very annoying. I'm strongly considering switching banks because of this. I'm extremely busy and I need a banking app that fits into that lifestyle, the older version did that seamlessly. This update simply won't do.
Swiping functionality is nice, BUT I prefer having the initial opening screen available with all account info displayed simultaneously. Also, the font size has become MUCH larger so that less info is available on each screen - this would be a good option for accessability, but should not be the default setting - give us the option to see more detail by default, please. In general, more detail should be provided with fewer necessitated phone touch interactions. Efficiency is more important than style for a banking app. Last, why are you placing an advertising pop-up (that requires touching an X to remove) asking if I use SECU - on a SECU banking app? (And this pop-up covers up several buttons at the bottom of the screen). No advertising here please!!!
The new update is horrible, go back to the previous version prior to this update. There is no ruining tally of the account. It's harder to obtain info... horrible
Why the change? Previous app I gave a 5 star this one a 1. App too busy & too many steps. Not as user friendly as previous app. Doesn't give running balance in checking. I don't like the fact that on payee list my credit card numbers are visible.
I just think user friendliness should be the ultimate goal of any application, including this one. Can't seem to navigate as fast as I did the old one....it's time consuming given my lifestyle.
Our family has 10 connected accts on secu (5 members, 3 of them are teenagers) and each had a Nickname so I didn't have to memorize acct #s...NOW the Nicknames no longer are shown on the Accts screen - the MAIN SCREEN (even after adding them and enabling them)!!!! I am flabbergasted that I now will be required to click on each acct in SETTINGS in order to figure out whos acct I am in, if I want to do any mobile banking. Extremely dissappointed with this update!
With this release, SECU is providing a more modern, redesigned mobile experience with the same great features our members have grown to enjoy.
