The Lord Mayor's Show is 801 years old this year. It is the oldest, longest and most popular civic procession in the world, filling the whole City of London and attracting hundreds of thousands of spectators every year.
This is the official app for the Show. It is your guide to the procession and the day. It uses your location and a series of procession beacons to tell you who is who as they pass by and show the whole procession on a map. It can show you good places to watch from and suggest attractions to visit in between the main events of the day. It also provides background and historical information about the Show and shows lots of interesting and useful places nearby including tube stations, toilets and first-aiders.
We use your GPS location to support several of these services, possibly including locally-targeted emergency messages. Please be aware that continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
Please note that this is the reissue of the app in order to fix a crashing bug that the play store would not let us fix in any other way. There were several negative comments attached to the previous version, as you would expect since it tended to crash on launch. We apologise for the inconvenience: this one works.
