This game clearly shows what refugees are going through these days and conveys such great message. The malaysian slang used are really convincing and i really love this game! There's only one problem; it doesn't save my progress and it made me play from the beginning after i left the game. But still, good job!
It lacks the same flexibility that Sara Is Missing doesn't have in terms of influencing the story as it's not really much of a game at all either, but it also has the same impressive fake phone aesthetics that makes SIM feel quite realistic and immersive. However, unlike with SIM, I don't really mind how short this one is as it already perfectly serves its purpose of shedding a bit of light on certain actual societal issues. Anyway, I just really appreciate what this app is trying to do to inform or educate people a bit on what it's like to be a refugee in certain parts of the world. The attempt on spreading awareness alone is already commendable enough to me regardless of the technical or aesthetic aspects of the gameplay.
Seeing as other reviewers have already touched on the game's message, I would like to add that While Finding Home is marginally better than Sara Is Missing, the story could've been better. It's like, I know I gotta eat these veggies, but would a little meat be bad with the meal?
The thing is, I don't feel the thriller here like Sara Is Missing and just to make it seemed real, why the slangs? Just because we're Malaysians? Btw, it's nice to see Malaysians doing this as an awareness. Keep up!
Pretty good example of the "lost phone" game. You get to see Kay's struggles in a foreign country. There isn't much game play per se - nothing you do changes the story. It's kind of short. Still very good work.
Though it was a tad redundant at times I think it very successfully got the message across. I felt this game right in my heart. When bad things happened to lay I was sad right along with her. It provides a good understanding of the hooess feelings I imagine refugees do sometimes feel. Amazing. Well done.
