Don't make separate version
Great on Amazon Fire TV stick! Not in Amazon Appstore, so had to sideload onto my 2016 Amazon Fire TV stick, which was a hassle, but worth the effort! Using it to play videos from shared folders on my networked Windows computer. Superb video and audio quality and sync, including subtitles. Even plays x265 video with only the occasional glitch. Much better than any other network streaming I've tried, no server app needed, highly recommended!
Need improvements While screen mirroring audio video don't get synchronized. audio is played first and then after 4 seconds particular visual comes on TV . Plz remove this bug so that we can enjoy online movies on big tv screen. And let give a txt box in for subtitles search, Bcoz for online videos also ,we can search subtitle manually by entering movie name........ best part is subtitle can be casted while screen mirroring and it don't require to keep phone display on.
Best player out there but... It would be nice to be able to select the directories you may want to limit the audio and video file scan to. Otherwise, what you get is a mix of WhatsApp or other downloaded files that come unsolicited into your vlc libraries (classic example are the ringtones you get from the net)... And that sucks, as other players let you choose the library directory...
Great app, have used it over 10 years in various software, has almost always been reliable compared to everything else available and has more codecs. Had my first reliability problem with new update, where there is no playback if opening indirectly from messenging app, but works fine when played direct. I know it will be fixed quickly, so many years of great reliability, hence 5 stars.
VLC on Android 2.0.6
2.0.6 is an update fixing crashes, updating codecs and saving the audio delay for BT headphones.
2.0 introduces a large number of features, notably network disk browsing (Windows shares, UPnP, NFS, SFTP...), favorite folders and URLs, video playlists, popup video, new permissions support, subtitles download, rewritten notifications and control, and a new history.
The Android TV and Android versions were merged, so that every device can get the updated Android TV look.
