I miss being able to stream WCAI and WCRB like I could on the previous version. It's nice that it allows one to pick up streaming where one left off. for example if one gets an incoming call. Streaming in the new version is infuriatingly flaky though: it will get into a state where it keeps repeating the same but ov audio over and over and over again until one stops it and gives up.

I tried to use this app to stay in sync with the radio while I'm out of my car to office or when a friend would call to say there's something to hear on GBH. The app plays ads more than anything else and is completely off the live broadcast. I lose connection or pause the app for a second and I'm back to square one, forced to listen to a list of ads and the program resents to beginning. In live news I basically lose "what is important". GBH's "what's important to you" is apparently the ads...

Playing an ad on launch is a bad user experience. I don't have that problem when I turn on the radio in my car. This happens incessantly if you're at the edge of WiFi range as the phone switches between 5g and WiFi. There's no scrubbing or rewind. It's a shame this app has been left to languish. The WBUR app is marginally better so I usually use that, but it has its own problems. A few common sense improvements to this GBH app would make it my preferred choice.
