Latest version working pretty well, except..... After downloading broadcasts with the Discover feature, the first broadcast doesn't play more than half the time. Also upon exiting the Discover feature, the app doesn't exit cleanly and I end of having to for stop it from application settings.
App only works once between restarts If I listen to a stream, then stop listening it keeps the notification opened. I can't get that to close and I can't get the app to start playing again except by restarting my phone. I've tried force quitting, as well as getting in touch with wnyc about it. No luck with any of it.
It is ok for listening to WNYC, I wrote them about the alerts that pop up with sound and vibration. they told me to go to android settings/apps and turn off the notifications. the app should let you change alert sound to silent.
I want to love it I love WNYC, but this app isn't doing the trick. I can't "save" podcasts to listen to them offline, even after they swear to have downloaded to my device over Wi-Fi. The app is so slow that even something as basic as scrolling can become a big project
Never turns off Their tag line is 'never turn us off' and the app makes it so. The stream will not stop, not even by closing the app. You can't close the notification. Only a phone reboot stops the stream. Love the content, hate the reboots.
The marketing alerts they push to my phone are very annoying. It vibrates and an alert appears telling me to listen now to whatever happens to be playing on WNYC. I cannot turns these off. If I close the app I don’t want these annoying alerts appearing. I think I’m going to uninstall the app and get my NPR fix from another station.
- Improvements to stability of the app and audio playback
- Fixed a bug preventing users from stopping audio after force closing the app
