About this app

About

Bodhi Timer is an elegant, minimalist countdown timer.
It is designed mainly for use as a meditation timer but can easily be used for any similar purpose.
This app is developed as open-source software.
It collects no data and uses the minimal permissions necessary.

How to use

šŸ”· Set the time via the clock icon in the top left. You may set presets by choosing a time then holding down on one of the three preset buttons.
šŸ”· Pause / resume via the button in the bottom left, and stop the timer via the button in the bottom right. The top right button is the preference button.
šŸ”· Animation may be toggled between an image and one of four circle animations, chosen from the preferences screen.
šŸ”· It uses Android's built-in notification system to trigger the alarm, which means it works even when your device is asleep.

There were some issues with recent updates, but the developer worked very quickly to resolve both aesthetics and functionality. I was very impressed with the responsiveness. I've been using this timer 6+ yrs, and it's honestly the best. Aesthetics, chime sounds, and colors are so soothing compared to other timers out there. I use it for both meditation, and "(5)-minute" warnings for my kiddo. I LOVE the crystal bowl chimes.

I have used this app for at least 6 or 7 years on a DAILY basis... Up until a few days ago I would have given this 5 stars. A few days ago something changed and it is now absolutely UN workable. I am now unable to set a timer for anything less than one hour, I don't like the new type font which makes it look like a sports timer. Can t figure out how to simply set a timer for a couple of minutes. Totally confusing Please please please go back to the original format which was just perfect.

Timer is good for meditation and free of ads. One glitch I want to point out in advance mode. When we tap pause button in between the run, It resumes with remaining time in current lap but doesn't run remaining laps.
