About this app

This app is developed by the Data Analytics for Research and Education (DARE)-Project 3 (Information Exchange Platform for the Public Sector) Team of the University of the Philippines National College of Public Administration and Governance (UP-NCPAG).

The SafeTravelPH Public Transport Crowdsourcing App allows commuters to report and view road transport conditions including road congestion and crashes; monitor Public Utility Vehicle (PUV) availability and locations, including arrival times at transit stops and occupancy levels of public transport vehicels; and rate and record the quality of their trips. At the same time, the app allows PUV operators to better calibrate their routes, monitor their operations and improve their overall operations in response to crowdsourced data provided by the application.

The app, which is free to use by all stakeholders, aims to help improve the quality, sustainability, and reliability of public transport services. It provides relevant real-time information to commuters and bus operators and more importantly, government agencies involved in the planning and management of the public transportation sector. We believe that the system will contribute in improving public transport systems in the country by providing an open data platform for public transport planning and policy-making

This app is part of the efforts of the UP COVID-19 Pandemic Response Team spearheaded by the UP Resilience Institute (UPRI). Visit and Facebook at For comments and suggestions, send email at
