About this app

Easily import all your MusicXML sheet music from your Files app, Dropbox, Google Drive or even from email attachments in seconds and start practicing immediately! Save yourself time so you can practice more.

Learn to play the music pieces and songs you love with Practice Bird. As your musical companion, Practice Bird works best if you know the basics of your instrument or are learning with a teacher. To get you started easily, we provide you with a carefully curated sheet music collection (currently piano only) and practice tools with real time pitch feedback.

We support piano, guitar, violin, recorder, clarinet, trumpet, flute, saxophone, violoncello, trombone or any instrument you can think of - and even vocals. Practice Bird can be used by individual musicians, ensembles, music schools and choirs.

LEARN & IMPROVE
With Practice Bird you can easily achieve your musical goals and efficiently refine your skills - by yourself or with your teacher. Practice Bird will listen to you play and will give you real-time feedback with our incredible Instant Pitch Monitor audio signal processing technology. You can adjust the tempo to your needs, listen to the piece and hide parts you don’t want to see or hear.

Struggling with a particular spot? With our extraordinary Loop feature Practice Bird will repeat those measures so that you can master the piece perfectly. If you need a challenge you can increase the tempo with every loop so practicing never gets boring. Need a little break between the loops? Our loop pause countdown lets you know when to start playing again.

Teachers can make Practice Bird their own by uploading their own musicXML and MIDI sheet music files for their students.

PRACTICE
Practice is the best of all instructors! And with Practice Bird, the more notes you play correctly, the more practice points you can collect, making practice even more fun. No matter what instrument you play, Practice Bird will adapt to you! With our Automatic Page Turning feature, there is no need to manually turn the page and lose focus. The built-in metronome is there to keep you playing in time with the music. Need to practice the hardest part of the piece? Use the Loop feature. The best thing about it is that you can even set breaks during the loops to catch your breath. Need to transpose a single part of a piece? That’s an easy fix with Practice Bird.

It's truly a great concept. But I wasn't able to comfortably display any sheet at all. Whatever the file, the displaying is all awkward and erratic; I'm talking about the music notation here, it seems it breaks the MIDI encoding, which ends up being an awful alternative to reading the source sheet. I've tried with MIDIs from all sources, although perpahs you need to tediously fiddle with your files a bit and manually fix them, maybe the app is not to blame, I'll try that.

EDIT: The problem has been solved! Best music xml app on the market. Highly suggested! Previous problem (solved): I tried several apps for mobile music XML rendering and this is by far the best one. This would have been a 5-star review, if not for a simple but significant missing feature: the possibility to directly open a local XML file without manually adding it to the phonicscore library.

Dear Matteo, have you already tried the newest release (2.8.0)? Should be fixed already - if yes, we would be happy if you could give us 5 stars! If there is still a problem please write it to office@phonicscore.com, thanks very much!

Estupendo, no se puede pedir más de la versión gratuíta. Estoy considerando pasarme a la versión de pago. Como sugerencia para los desarrolladores, estaría muy bien poder poner "anotaciones" de ensayo en mi versión privada de la partitura. It's an amazing app. The free version is top notch and I am considering to buy the PRO version. As a suggestion for the developers, It could be very useful to be able to make user annotations for rehearsal the private version of the score.

What’s new

In assessment mode you can now listen to the other parts (we recommend headphones!). Of course, you cannot listen to the part that is being assessed. You can select the audible parts after opening a music piece under Settings/Volume Mixer.
