A NOTE ON COUNTRIES
Our list is based primarily on United Nations membership, while also
including places that aren't formally recognised as UN member states but
are considered de facto countries by some. "been" doesn't take a political
stance on these questions — our goal is simply to give you somewhere to
record your own travels, with room for the many perspectives in our
community.

When I was introduced to the "been" app, thought it was a brilliant idea. One could add all the states and provinces of visited countries. Unfortunately, that option went away when a premium paid feature was added. A bit disappointed and will still use the app, but not premium.

Their world map is annoying and totally disproportionate. Greenland looks larger than Africa, but smaller than Russia. In reality, Africa is almost twice as big as Russia, but Greenland is like less than 10% of the size of African continent.

It used to be good, not anymore. Also, Crimea is Ukrainian, not Russian. Worst mistake using this app. Don't spread this propaganda.
