RPN Calculator does not have to be complicated, boring, or outdated. So we have created an RPN calculator app that is quite the opposite of these presumptions. And it is free.
S3 RPN with Voice provides only basic functionalities of a calculator, but we have added a few nice features like below. (If you are not familiar with RPN, please read the note near the end of this product description).
Date and Time Calculation
Not so many calculators have these functionalities. Calculate the difference between two dates. Find a future or past date. Calculate the difference between two times. Find a future or past time. Say it is now 4:26am. What time is 2 hours 50 minutes from now?
Now you do not need to use a shift key to access the yellow functions. The Single-Access Key feature enables you to activate the yellow functions quickly and conveniently.
You don't have to memorize anything. Each of the functions on the calculator has a cheatsheet containing brief description of how the function works, and one or more examples.
Are you bored with the look of current calculator? Inside the calculator there is a collection of paintings by Claude Monet that you can set as the calculator’s background.
Instead of tapping the screen to input numbers and activate functions, you can now speak the keystrokes into the microphone, something like “nine square root”. And S3 RPN will respond by saying on the speaker: “nine square root”, “three”!
You can undo the steps all the way to the beginning of a calculator session.
Note on RPN
Kindly note this is a calculator that works based on the RPN logic. In RPN there is no equal sign, and parenthesis are not needed. Although all the keys and functions in the calculator has a cheatsheet, if you are not familiar with RPN you might want to search some tutorial on RPN to better understand how it works.
For instance, in RPN to calculate 2 + 5 you use the keystrokes 2 [ENTER] 5 [+]. So when you tap 2 + 5 but do not see 7 on the display, please do not write a typical one-star review saying “wrong answer” or “it doesn’t work”.
Note on Voice Recognition
Please do not speak long commands. Instead of speaking "two enter five multiply nine divide" in one go, break it up into several steps like so.
In each of the above steps, wait for the calculator to repeat what it has heard and/or speak out the result, before proceeding to the next step.
Speech data is processed by Google servers for online recognition and locally for offline recognition. Online recognition can recognize spoken words more accurately but it requires internet connection.
Accuracy of voice recognition depends on many factors that are beyond the reach of the app. If the voice recognition feature fails you, please consider this before writing a review and complain. At any rate, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you need some assistance, or if you want to give some feedback which is very much appreciated.
If you use the voice recognition feature of the app, the "allow to record audio" permission is required so you can speak the commands into the microphone. For online recognition, the app utilizes Google servers to process voice data. Other than for this purpose, S3 RPN does not collect, store, or transmit information that relates to its users.
