About this app

Meteo@IPMA is a free-to-use application from the Instituto Português do Mar e da Atmosfera, IPMA I.P., for mobile devices that provides weather and sea information for more than 300 locations in Portuguese territory.

This version includes a total redesign of the app that makes it easier to consult detailed and reliable weather information, of which we highlight:
- Weather status forecast up to 10 days.
- Hourly information up to the 3rd day.
- Three-hourly information from the 4th to the 6th day.
- Daily information from the 7th to the 10th day.
- Three-hourly information on the state of the sea, up to the 3rd day.
- Information regarding weather warnings.
- Information on the maximum value of the ultraviolet index.
- Predefined list of locations, selectable via menu, option, "locations".
- Update period: all information is updated in 2 periods of the day, approximately between 9 and 10 am and between 9 and 10 pm (local time on the continent).
- Time zone: time in the location where the forecast is valid.
- Units: air temperature: ºC; wind intensity: km/h; relative air humidity: %; precipitation: precipitation class; precipitation probability: %; sea water temperature: ºC; total sea: meter; ripple: meter; vacancy: metro; wave period: second.

The app design is much better now than before, but there are a few minor things that could be improved: the widgets are oversized, for example even the smallest one is 2x3, while it's square in size and should be 2x2, etc; the English translation is lacking: it should be the "hourly" forecast instead of "daily", and "daily" instead of "weekly"; there's no UV level data for every hour, only a peak value for a day. Otherwise, a decent weather app for Portugal.

The app has no Dark Mode. Forecasts are often wrong, such as announcing 0% rain for the day and 0% rain for that time, while actually raining intensely. UI is lacking, focusing on looks over functionality, and main information limits choices to 3 (out of 6) important information. All that information should still be present when scrolling down, but some info is only present in hourly view, while others in weekly view.

The reason for this score is because I didn't get any messages about the need for the location permission. Make the favourite buttons a bit bigger. When in English, the warnings are still in Portuguese.
