In order to become a Master you must practice a skill for 10000 hours.
Mastery tracks how much time you spend on developing your skills. This app allows to gamify your skill development and enhance productivity.
G+ community: https://goo.gl/TG4Yww
Tips and tricks
• The main screen of the app contains the activities that you created.
• The Skills menu item allows you to manage skills (create, view, edit, delete).
• The Categories menu item allows you to manage categories (create, view, edit, delete).
• The Trends menu item displays some neat charts.
• The Store menu item allows you to manage products / rewards (create, view, edit, delete).
• The Transactions menu item shows the expense / income coin transactions.
• There is one category created by default: General. You can edit it, and you can add more categories by pressing on the + button when on Categories page.
• Icons for skills, categories, and products are mandatory.
• You can add activity only when you have at least one skill defined.
• Store is for user-defined rewards (see explanation below).
Store
The use of the store is completely optional. The main aim of it, is to allow the user to define some rewards for time spent developing a skill.
Examples:
• Gaming - you can purchase an hour of gaming using X coins that you got from developing a skill.
• TV Shows- you can purchase an episode of TV Shows using X coins that you got from developing a skill.
The idea is to allow you to define rewards for your time spent developing useful skills.
More icon packs will be added in the future.
More gamification features are going to be added in the future (feel free to suggest them).
The free version allows you to have a maximum of 5 skills at a time, everything else is not restricted.

So far, I find this app very useful. I use it to track my language learning progress. There are a couple of things that would up my review to a solid 5 stars if they were added. First of all, it would be nice to be able to back up my progress to a cloud service. That way I could share that data with my other devices. Also, it's difficult to distinguish among the different backup files that are saved to my device. They seem to be saved using random numbers instead of being titled by date or other more clear identifier. So, the backup files are pretty useless to me. In addition to having cloud backup, it would be nice to be able split up my budget in the store by category. I'm trying to use my coins based the category under which they were earned. For example, 500 coins earned under the Language Learning category might be spent purchasing a book of fiction in my target language, as opposed to using coins earned under another category to purchase items not in any way related to language learning. Other than those couple of things, this is a solid app. And I look forward to continued use and updates. I'll purchase the premium version to gain the ability to add more skills.

Edit: problem was a bug and dev communication is excellent. This is one of the most useful apps i have ever had. Everything is great, but why doesn't the skill category display in chronological order? What order is it in? Can I change it?

I love this app. The way you log everything is very simplistic but effective and I love how you don't have to mess with making tasks but just input the time spent on your skill. I love how it has an rpg feel to it without adding "classes" (like mage) or attributes (like stamina) like other apps do. Takes out all of the bs taking time away from you actually practicing the skill and makes it flow much smoother. Not a hassle to use. The categories mechanic is an amazing touch. I look at it from an Elder Scrolls point of view that the Categories are my overall level in a skill section (like mage skills, sneak skills, ect) and the actual skill section are the actual skills feeding into the overall level. Best app in this group by far. One suggestion I would make is to have the Categories level up and use the conjunction of the skill levels associated with it as XP. Again, this is a great app and am very happy I found it. Edit: A search bar for skills would be nice as well as the ability to sort skills in a custom order.

This apps is basically a step by step progress making to achieve your goals. I've always struggle on how to built a systematic plan and reward in my life to achieve multiple goals. THANKS TO THIS APPS! It helps me by giving me motivations (level upgrades!! ) and a simple working system to go restricted my plan. IF YOU ARE SAYING THAT : MY TIME IS SPENT BUT I LITERALLY DID NOTHING (LACK PRODUCTIVITY) YOU SHOULD INSTALLED AND BUILT A SYSTEM YOUR OWN. IT IS AWESOME I DISCOVERED THIS APPS!!!!!!!!:-D Woooooooo🙆

I like the app. The only issue is that you can go into a negative currency? I think it kind of defeats the point of working for coins if you can buy items regardless.

I've tried a lot of time management apps, and this one suits me perfectly. I love the concept, the interface is very neat. I love everything about this app, it's so challenging! It motivates me a lot. Highly recommended!

Cloud backup and restore is the next thing on my to-do list. I'll try to squeeze some time for that ASAP. The backup name is the timestamp the backup was created at, I'll change it to make it more readable :) Thanks for the feedback. Edit: problem was a bug and dev communication is excellent. This is one of the most useful apps i have ever had. Everything is great, but why doesn't the skill category display in chronological order? What order is it in? Can I change it?

It's alphabetical. Mihail Burduja April 22, 2017
You shouldn't be able to go into negative currency. I fixed that :) I'll look into it today I've tried a lot of time management apps, and this one suits me perfectly. I love the concept, the interface is very neat. I love everything about this app, it's so challenging! It motivates me a lot. Highly recommended!
Wherever I try to add any icons or categories the page resets and I lose all progress and it's been really frustrating. Can you please fix it?
When I start the timer and rotatw the phone, tha acticity reloads and the timer stops
Mihail Burduja May 15, 2017
The timer still runs in the background. However, I agree, I must fix that :) Not the best layout for a time management app, needs pre-loaded skills and categories etc.
An amazing app that gives you an incentive to do tasks that you might otherwise avoid!

The icons weren't stolen. Icon packs were downloaded from their authors' websites or affiliates and are free to use with acknoledgments, which you can find in the drawer menu. Specifically, the packs are PIXELBUDDHA PACK by Pixel Buddha, SMASHMAGAZINE PACK by Roundicons, MUSICAL by Freepik. The app icon is taken from flaticon. Great clear idea with a few minor gaps This is a great idea - I love how simple the concept is, and the clean interface. It doesn't need to be complex. However, I can see as others have mentioned that a search function could be useful, plus would def love to see a widget for this app at some point - eg one line or two lines of the screen, with your four or eight most recently/most often used skills. Also - which I imagine may be pretty easy to add - custom icons? Please! There aren't enough creative ones :)
Mihail Burduja December 5, 2016
I can search and add more icon packs, but custom packs would require too much code changes. A widget is much simpler to add, but what kind of info would you like to see in the widget? I like this app so far. However, it is taking me some time to figure out what I want as categories and what I want to use as Skills(things I want to level up in and see my progress). I would suggest that there be a tutorial on how to get the most out of this app and some examples of what could fall under "Categories" and what would fall under "Skills". I'm looking forward to seeing what improvements are coming down the pipe.

I'll create an introduction readme for the app. Thanks for using Mastery :) It sounds exactly like what I want, but I just don't understand it. It's simple looking, but not clear. It needs set up instructions. Maybe it's me, but I feel the set up is backwards. I rather have it main category, subcategory, then specific activities. It's not terrible though and I can kinda work around it. I'm not understanding if when I'm putting in the information if I'm setting up my goal or progress. It seems to be covering both at the same time which isn't a clear indicator of what I'm looking at
Love this app! Thank you! I didn't think the icons would matter to me, but in this case I agree with others. Also, it would be better to be able to edit an activity to resume using the timer (seems like as it is we have to calculate manually) Not really a big deal, but is sort of a glaring workflow kink, in practice. I guess that is partly what duplicate entry is for, but something about it feels messy. Nonetheless, love love love 😃
Love it and bought it. The only thing really missing is being able to edit when you become a novice and a yedi. Possibly the tittles themselves also. The reason I am asking is because I want to change it to 20 hours to acquire a skill and 10.000 to master it. (See 20 hour rule and 10.000 hour rule)
A beautiful, well executed app. After a bit of playing with it, I found a balance between the apps currency and rewards. Great for logging skill gains over time. Needs a tutorial perhaps, as the apps learning curve is moderate in difficulty.
This is a great app with a few minor details that need fixing: if you don't have enough money to purchase an item in the shop, you shouldn't be able to purchase it. Secondly, you should include a tutorial. And finally, you should add some kind of widget (something where you could add an activity from your home screen). Asides from these few setbacks, mastery is great and I recommend it.
Awesome app I want to give 5 but it won't let me buy to open more skills. Otherwise an amazingly simple yet detailed activity tracker with gaming elements. Awesome app
Looks like it would do it job if you get it but i don't. Needs some kinda explanation of what i'm supposed to add where The screenshots help a bit but it's still confusing to use

I will schedule a new development cycle these upcoming weeks. Will put in place most of the features, you guys, requested. Thanks for using Mastery. Needs tutorial It needs an in-app tutorial on how to use. While its easy to poke around and do stuff it can be a lot to take in at once. A simple infographic you can pull up by hitting a "how-to" option on the app menu would be 100% better
Love it, great design. As you're taking suggestions; Functionality to create schedules (eg. weekly, daily) that either integrate with calendar apps like Google calendar to appear as events, or that have notification reminders would be amazing! You could set up a learning plan and confirm the task was done and then have progress recorded! Thanks again for making this.
Has so much potential. For starters, there really should be an "about" section inside the app itself. If this app keeps improving, I'm willing to pay $5 just to support the dev.
Very nice app!!! Is it possible that you can change the different "ranks" or titles as we progress through a skill? It isn't necessary but I thought it would make the app slightly more customizable and allow users to personalize it.
This is one of my favourite apps! It really motivates me and helps me keep track of my progress!! Thank you for the amazing app :)
Mihail Burduja December 19, 2016
The free version has a limit of 5 skills, premium has unlimited. I can't seem to find the time at the moment for the tweaks, but I will update it in the upcoming weeks. Fine idea but UI workflow needs more attention. As mentioned in other comments it would be better to select category first and than add hours to it. If we need to create new category just add button + next to existing categories. My 2 cents.

I will schedule a new development cycle these upcoming weeks. Will put in place most of the features, you guys, requested. Thanks for using Mastery. Great, simple tool for tracking good habits and skill practice. The timer is really helpful! I'd like to see a congratulation message when I gain a level, but that may just be because I crave validation.
Liked but... I need instructions, I couldn't figure it out by myself. I feel dumb.
If you want to keep track of the number of hours you spend on skill you wanted to master, this is a great app to use. I hope there's a widget to easily see your progress for each skills. Seeing your progress is a great motivator.

I will schedule a new development cycle these upcoming weeks. Will put in place most of the features, you guys, requested. Thanks for using Mastery. Love but would really like a more comprehensive trends page. I want to know how much I did a month specifically. Like if I did 42 hours I don't wanna have to ballpark with the line graph...
I really love this app. I often use the timer to know how long I've been doing something. Also, looking at your levels and stats is quite motivating. Good job! :)
Edit: i still hold on my previous rage but it's the only app i found to do exactly this so i guess ill give it another shot..
Mihail Burduja January 18, 2017
Hello Aleksandrina, I, myself, use the limited version with 5 skills only and there is nothing wrong with this limitation. You can pick your most practised skills and track them only.
I hope you'll change your review :) Ingenious!! I love this idea and I think it was executed really well! However I think there should be more icon packs
There are no instructions whatsoever, and it's not at all clear what you're supposed to do. No prompts, nothing.
Mihail Burduja April 3, 2017
I'm trying to add some help or tutorial. I've already implemented a help section in the new version of the app and I'll add some content there in the upcoming weeks It did not start up on my tablet (Samsung SM-T110) - white screen, then it closes itself.
Mihail Burduja February 8, 2017
I'm sorry for that. Please submit the error when Android prompts you to, so I can debug. Must have if you read "Mastery" or "Outliers" Loved the app. Hoping if you could release on iOS too.
10.000 hours reached. Yeap, that's right. I got 10.000 playing hours on Minecraft, 1v1 me scrub.
I would put "skills > skills" as the homescreen. A widget showing the skills progress would be great too!
