Maktun is a new free application for numismatists, bonists and notaphilists. It suits both novice and experienced collectors.
In Maktun you can:
— Identify the coin and banknote by the photo from the phone. Maktun already knows about 300 000 types of coins and 120 000 types of banknotes.
— Learn detailed information about the coin and banknote: country, nominal value, years of mintage, catalogue number, series, weight, dimensions and other details.

You know this app used to be superb for capturing pictures of coins and they were readable. In fact I still have it in my wifi phone. this ?updated? version is horrible I can't get one half way decent photo. It just isn't the quality it was in the original one. Iam so disappointed with this app right now. In total I have wasted an hour and a half of my time and not one coin has been catalogued. I have never even tried another app like this, because I was so pleased with this one. Now I haveto

Try to take photos using the CameraX library (To do this, check the menu: About application->Camera). There have been no recent app updates, the quality of the photos depends largely on the libraries used. Write to help@maktun.com, we will try to help you.

I found some old coins in a drawer, I had nothing else to do, so I looked for a coin app and reviewers said this one has no ads. That was a huge persuader for me, maybe it wasn't advertised as a feature because ads will be introduced if the app proves popular, in which case I will happily pay for a premium, ad-free version. It's easy to use, I'm having fun with it, no frustrations so far and I'm a nitpicker, if there were something dumb or overlooked I'd be complaining. Winner.

Works like a charm on most coins. (One of my Korean coins was not detected, however.) I also noticed that sometimes when I take photos, the app rotates them in strange ways. I love the collection feature and that you're able to browse by country! This app provides a wealth of information, is user friendly, and comes without ads. Wonderful job, devs.

Thank you for your feedback. We are constantly updating our coin database, but with your help it can be replenished even faster. If Maktun doesn't recognise any known coins, please send us the main characteristics of the coin at help@maktun.com, and then it will appear in the app within a few days.
