About this app

Maktun is a new free application for numismatists, bonists and notaphilists. It suits both novice and experienced collectors.

In Maktun you can:

— Identify the coin and banknote by the photo from the phone. Maktun already knows about 300 000 types of coins and 120 000 types of banknotes.

— Learn detailed information about the coin and banknote: country, nominal value, years of mintage, catalogue number, series, weight, dimensions and other details.

— Create and maintain a collection of your coins and banknotes.

— Always have your collection at hand. Even with no internet connection.

— Save photos of your coins and banknotes.

— Add coins and banknotes to the lists.

— Get an approximate value of the coin.

— Access your collection from all of your devices.

— Be sure about the safety of your collection, thanks to the backup system.

Ratings and reviews

I found some old coins in a drawer, I had nothing else to do, so I looked for a coin app and reviewers said this one has no ads. That was a huge persuader for me, maybe it wasn't advertised as a feature because ads will be introduced if the app proves popular, in which case I will happily pay for a premium, ad-free version. It's easy to use, I'm having fun with it, no frustrations so far and I'm a nitpicker, if there were something dumb or overlooked I'd be complaining. Winner.

Works like a charm on most coins. (One of my Korean coins was not detected, however.) I also noticed that sometimes when I take photos, the app rotates them in strange ways. I love the collection feature and that you're able to browse by country! This app provides a wealth of information, is user friendly, and comes without ads. Wonderful job, devs.

This app is amazing, I absolutely love it for helping me sort through my world coin collection and orders. My only input would be to add more sorting features to the collection page, such as sort by year or composition, since currently it can only be sorted by country from what I can tell. Thank you for developing such a nice, fun to use app!
