About this game

In the 1890s a gambling house in Saratoga Springs would sell you a deck for fifty-two dollars and hand back five for every card you managed to promote. Hardly anyone broke even. The house kept the difference, and the patience that earned it still carries the owner's name.

That arrangement explains the layout. Thirteen cards are stacked in a reserve, and that pile is the wall between you and a profit. Four columns of one card each sit beside it. A single card is turned onto the first foundation, and whatever rank it happens to be becomes the starting rank for all four: turn a nine and every foundation runs nine, ten, Jack, Queen, King, Ace, two, and on round to the eight.

WHERE IT BITES
- The reserve refills an emptied column automatically, whether that suited your plan or not
- Foundations wrap past the King back to the Ace, and the tableau turns the same corner going down
- The tableau builds down in alternating colours
- Draw one card at a time or three, chosen when you start
- Redeals are unlimited, so the stock is a loop rather than a countdown
- Five points per card promoted, in a nod to the five dollars

WHAT ELSE IS IN THERE
Undo the last hundred moves. A hint when the board goes quiet. A tutorial that lays out the rules. Statistics: games played, best times, and your win percentage across every deal you have tried. Card backs and table colours. Free to play, no account, and it runs with no connection at all. 33 languages.
