Reading Easy is a method to help children crack the reading code and avoid problems already at the beginning of reading teaching. The method has been tested in preschools with very good results.
In the Swedish language there are many more sounds than letters, which means that the alphabetical principle does not work one hundred percent. In the Swedish language there are 40 sounds and 29 letters, which makes it difficult for the children to read without confusion and stress.
The difficulties arise because the speech sounds are represented by letter characters. But in some cases, one has to combine these characters in special ways to represent a sound. A sound can also often change depending on the sound that comes closest to before or after. At this point it turns out that some children have particular problems.
Reading Easily solves that problem using colors. The colors for the children are easy to understand eg. as a traffic light and spreads joy. The children's brains connect the right sound through the color signals. This means that the children can basically read all kinds of words from the beginning. It's just a transitional period. The purpose of the colors to help the children independently move on in exploration work with the written language.
The core of the method is a unique sound map. There letters are placed in a special system with regular letter combinations that children have easy to orient themselves in. By singing the letter combinations, the children learn how they sound and look. This means that the children save time because they do not need to sound together each letter. The consequences are that reading decoding takes place faster and more stress-free for the children when they can put the letters together themselves. The method takes into account the anatomy of the child's brain at the specific age. The letter combinations presented in this way are taken up by the right hemisphere, which makes the child memorize them unknowingly and easily. With the help of the sound map, the irregularities that otherwise may frighten and prevent children from reading are eliminated. As the children learn the usual patterns of letter combinations, the speed of the decoding increases and less and less energy is required to decode new words.
