Sparkle TV is a DVR/PVR player that lets you stream and watch Live TV from your provider on your Android TV, Google TV or Fire TV stick. Supports provider formats such as m3u, xtream codes and xmltv but also over-the-air antenna using HdHomeRun or Jellyfin.

Ratings and reviews

This app works very well for recording and scheduling recordings from IPTV on my mobile device. Much better than Tivimate. Navigation on my mobile device isn't the easiest and I wish I could jump further ahead (like jump halfway through the recording instantly) while watching recorded programs through the Sparkle video player, otherwise I would have given 5 stars. I just use a different video player to jump past all commercials quickly. The TV version of this app can skip ahead pretty fast.

I used a playlist to populate the app. Everything static played without buffering or freezing. However, after about an hour to two hours, live streams would freeze or show the buffer wheel. I was impressed enough with the free version that I purchased a subscription, which was to allow pausing, ffwd, rev, etc., but I have not been able to manipulate playback in any of these ways. So, you have to watch all the way through or go all the way back to the beginning of a show. This is frustrating.

I have had this app for several months now, and purchased the lifetime edition. I did so for the purpose of recording. The app works exceptionally well, except for the recording feature. When you set the recording for the standard time for sports events, from 2-4 hours the recording ends up with 21 or 25 or 26 hours of recording time. This makes the video unviewable and unusable if you want to use the fast forward or rewind feature. I have tried this on a dozen occasions.Any solutions?
