Tillverkaren skriver "Mobilkassan är gratis" och "för att genomföra riktiga köp med Mobilkassan behöver du en kontrollenhet". Mobilkassan fungerar endast med Produkt Poolens kontrollenhet. Denna kontrollenhet kostar 6244 SEK (inkl. moms) första året. Efterföljande år är kostnaden 3118 SEK. Den relativt höga kostnaden och att Produkt Poolen försöker dölja den är en anledning att leta efter alternativ.
