It can be difficult to see the consequences of what you do, why you do what you do. MAN
feels that one only "ends up" in fights, trouble, abuse, does not reach one's goals or that others
constantly getting upset or angry about things you do. It's easy to get stuck in old ways
behavioral patterns but "if you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always got".
Behavior analysis is a way to achieve behavior change.
A behavioral analysis (behavioral chain) can clarify patterns in how one thinks, feels and
make. You can see what consequences behaviors have for me and my surroundings on maps and
long term. You can more clearly see negative problem behaviors that you may be stuck in and
have a hard time breaking. You also learn to see your vulnerability and find others more constructive
behaviors that can be taught instead - alternative behaviors.
You are not your behavior. You can train yourself to do things differently, think about how to
example react and act differently at your old grandmother's house than when you are at school,
work or with your parents.
You will "get to know" yourself and what you do a little better, understand yourself (or someone
other) better. And then practice alternative behaviours, understand what you need to practice
to do differently and have a plan to implement this.
