Rubbish and plastic in the sea is one of the fastest growing environmental problems of our time and is a threat to life in the sea and on land.
The app was developed by the Swedish Scuba Diving Association in collaboration with the Keep Sweden Clean foundation and with the support of the Postcode Foundation. The app is developed from Håll Sverige Rent's app Junk Protocol and adapted for junk diving and findings of marine junk for members of the Swedish Sport Diving Association, but is open to all divers.
This app is part of the project Skräpdykarna - Sweden's eyes under the surface and is for free and sport divers to easily register their junk finds, either when you are out diving in small groups or within the association. The app is excellent in various contexts with various forms of junk diving events that are carried out publicly within the association.
The junk dive is registered in a national database run by Keep Sweden Clean and where SSDF can extract its specific information for analysis of junk finds in water. The national register provides the opportunity to make deeper analyzes based on a larger number of registrations. Analyzes can form the basis for target measurements for reduced litter in municipalities and regions and can also show how measures work over time.
Thank you for helping to clear seas, lakes and streams of debris and for registering your findings!
