Train yourself in conscious presence and acceptance with these exercises, designed to train your ability to be here and now. They are excellent to use on their own but can also be a good complement to work in contact with a psychologist.
Conscious presence is sometimes called mindfulness and sometimes in psychotherapy simply "contact with the present". Being consciously present in the present is a basic tool that can help us when life challenges us in different ways. It can help us to relate to difficult thoughts, feelings and body sensations, but also to experience life's positive moments more present.
The exercises are developed by psychologists, physiotherapists and occupational therapists based on the psychological treatment method Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which is part of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).
