Telesecundaria is a basic, public and school education service that serves students from rural areas and marginalized areas with a single teacher who organizes the proposed activities in educational materials for practically all subjects; uses printed, audiovisual and computer educational materials and the organization in the classroom is done by only one teacher per grade. This educational service requires for its operation two fundamental supports, on the one hand, the pedagogical references that guide the development of the teaching and learning processes in accordance with the current curriculum and, on the other, the infrastructure, human, material, technological resources and specialized management for its implementation. During the 2017-2018 school year, according to the General Directorate of Educational Planning, Programming and Statistics, Telesecundaria registered 1,379,920 students, attended by 72,184 teachers in 18,741 schools.
