SopDroid is an app that allows you to play any Sopcast links ("sop://") on your Android phone, tablet, stick or TV box. You can play the links straight from SopDroid as well as from any browser, email or other apps.
In order to play a stream you’ll need to enter the full Sopcast link or, much easier, only the last 5 or 6 digits of the Sopcast link. For instance, for the following link sop://broker.sopcast.com:3912/121212 you only need to use 121212 as for the channel ID. Hit “Play” and you will be asked by the system to select your preferred video player from the apps installed on your Android device. In the case that the system won’t prompt you to select the preferred video player and streaming won’t play after the buffering process is finished please go to Android’s Settings>General>Default and clear the default video player. Next time you’ll be able to select your preferred video player. Choose one other the previous selected. Note: The Samsung native video player does not support streaming. Here is a list of players that will stream Sopcast links: VLC Player (recommended), VPlayer, MXPlayer, XPlayer.
Please remember, SopDroid does not control the quality or the availability of the streams nor the servers as they are provided by third parties. As Sopcast is running on a P2P protocol the quality of a particular link is increasing while more people are streaming and decreasing when less users are connected. An issue with a channel is not directly related to SopDroid.
