About this app

## An addictive 8-bit RPG habit tracker & time management tool

Habicat is a retro pixel-art gamified habit tracker and goal planner. Here, you are not just checking off a daily routine—you are leveling up your own hero.

Why is it so hard to build good habits and beat procrastination? Because real life lacks instant feedback. Habicat uses an instant reward system to turn your to-do list—like exercising, studying, waking up early, or drinking water—into EXP, gold coins, and rare loot. Treat self-discipline like an endless RPG. You don't need to rescue a princess; the only bosses you need to defeat are laziness and bad habits.

Whether you're a student building a study routine or a professional striving for better time management, Habicat makes your progress visible and incredibly fun.

----- Key Features -----

👾 Retro Pixel Art Design: A complete 8-bit visual style. Clean, intuitive, and engaging. Say goodbye to boring checklists.

🎮 RPG Leveling System: Complete your daily tasks to earn gold, level up your hero, and upgrade your gear! Every step forward makes your character stronger in real life and in the game.

📅 In-Depth Habit & Routine Planner: Set custom frequencies, reminders, and use the retro-active logging feature. Whether it's a daily water tracker, weekly runs, a Pomodoro focus timer, or a rigorous study planner, Habicat tracks it flawlessly.

📊 Visualized Data & Stats: Includes habit heatmaps, weekly, and monthly reports. Review your growth with beautiful data visualizations and keep your habit streaks alive.

🏆 Rewards & Achievements: Unlock an aesthetic achievement wall, discover hidden easter eggs, and challenge epic monthly Boss fights.

📱 Interactive Home Screen Widgets: Various customizable Android widgets let you check off your habits right from your home screen without opening the app, maximizing your productivity.

----- A Note from the Developer -----

I believe our lives can be just as engaging as our favorite games.

As an indie developer, I was deeply inspired by Jane McGonigal’s book Reality Is Broken. Why do we invest so much effort into virtual worlds but struggle with long-term goals in reality? The secret lies in "the driving force of instant feedback."

I created Habicat to give you that instant, positive reinforcement on your journey to becoming your best self. This is a continuously maintained indie project. I will keep adding new gear, bosses, and features to accompany you in this "infinite game" of life.

The app is very cute, and so far it has been useful. I like the chest feature with a random piece of equipment, but I just wish there was also a store showing all the equipment so that you could save up for something you really wanted. And/or if you could choose the category of the chest item before opening, because I have 3 shirts so far and no pants which is annoying

"Good tracker, okay game." Adding sounds and pop-ups would drastically increase the game like feel. Also not being able to build your own character to a certain degree. Having unlockable items would be great so people have a goal to move towards. Skills and stats, instead of Str, Int, Agi, could be something more relatable to real life, like : Self-Mastery, Gold, Social ability, etc. The icons also can be more game like. Skillion right now does a great job, but lacks the monthly overview.

Over all I think the app is good, but I do think it could do with a few extra things like an active shop where you can buy and sell common goods, other monsters outside of quests to battle and put equipment to use, and maybe player interaction.
