TARA is a TelCo application service that protects you and your phone and is engineered to be your partner in solving the global problem of mobile phone theft.
You don’t need load, data, or internet to use its various features. You can LOCK your phone entirely, making it completely unusable to thieves. It triggers a GSM (Galit Sa Magnanakaw) that will bring attention to the thief incessantly, even when the phone is on silent mode. LOCATE where your phone is, wherever it may be in the world. BACK-UP your data so you can easily restore it in case you lose your phone. You can also WIPE all the contents of your phone to protect your privacy.
TARA uses the Device Administrator permission. – TARA will require you to activate TARA as a device administrator to enable it to perform the following functions (“TARA Services”), upon your command:
a. Lock/ Unlock
Allows TARA to substitute your screen-unlock password for a TARA generated password upon a specific command that you will send through an SMS to a TARA-provided access number.
Allows TARA to locate your Device via use of location-based services as defined below.
Allows TARA to erase data stored in your Device through a factory reset, upon your SMS command to the TARA access number.
d. Audio recording and camera function
Allows TARA to remotely capture audio and images, when you send a command to lock your Device and/or when an unauthorized person/user attempts to disable such command whether in the form of a failed attempt to input the TARA-generated password or by any other means.
e. Text messaging
Allows TARA to send an SMS message, upon boot-up (i.e. when your Device is restarted or when there is a change of SIM card), containing the status or location of your Device. In case of change of SIM card, TARA will be able to identify the new SIM card, monitor frequency in changes, and send the number to the TARA servers.
f. Backup or Restore
Allows TARA to access the Device’s memory, SIM card, and SD or memory card inside the Device, if any, and backup or restore the contents thereof, upon a specific command that you will send through an SMS to a TARA-provided access number.
