Handy for native English speakers but I can't imagine it is much help if English isn't your first language. I can scan down the list and see the word I'd half-remembered, but if it wasn't already familiar, I couldn't know which of the listed words to use. Reviews say that this is an app in progress? And it's a huge undertaking! I agree that dictionary definitions for suggested words will help a lot. Also, I'd like to be able to pull a word from the list straight into the search box, as another way to verify it is the correct one. At the moment this app is only really useful in conjunction with a full English dictionary.
I'm non native English speaker and a lot of times I can't quite remember the word I want to use but I can describe it. App really nails that. Its also useful for finding loose synonyms. My only complaint is that word definition isn't shown in the pop up on galaxy s7, its just blank space.
This is the dictionary I always wished existed, and alas, that day has finally come! Thank you! That it can follow my crazy train of thought, when searching for what I need is nothing short of extraordinary. Obviously created by a writer - because I couldn't imagine any other type of mind to follow a word association structure in the way this is laid out. Does it have issues? Sure. UI is very basic, no frills. Who cares? My life just got exponentially easier.
Big help for us oldies! I never used to think that early 50s would cause "senior moments", I was wrong. Finding the word which has been on the tip of my tongue by giving the definition is a total godsend. Please keep it up-to-date, and THANK YOU!
It's a bit strange. The first result is usually ok, but consecutive results can be bizarrely wrong, like if you tell it the time when it gets dark, the first result is evening, great but the second and third are foul and liver. Wft?
I love this app. I'm always looking for the right word, and this dictionary expedites the incredibly frustrating task of recalling exactly the right word to communicate your thoughts. It works almost like a thesaurus, but with the benefit of an extensive and thorough collection of similar and related words, so you can search for the closest thing you can think of and go from there. One feature I would highly recommend adding would be the ability to select a word from the search results and update your search terms, rather than having to copy/paste or retype. Perhaps even in the form of a search button in the little word popup that currently happens when you tap a search result. Definitions would also be super (in the word popup, specifically), but even more than that it would be nice if there was a note specifying "verb", "adjective", "noun", etc.
