Q: I want to run Nmap myself from a terminal. Where are the binaries?
A: The binaries are (usually) saved in /data/data/com.wjholden.nmap/bin/.
Q: Is this a GPL violation?
A: I'm not a lawyer, but I don't think so. My sources are freely available and also licensed by the GPL. You are free to modify and redistribute my code provided you share those changes back, IAW the GPL. Free software is not always zero cost.
Q: Where is the source code?
A: Distributing source code along with Android applications is a bit impractical. Download the source code from http://nmap.wjholden.com/src/.
Q: Wait, you're not Fyodor!
A: This is NOT an official release from http://nmap.org, this is simply a front-end that calls to a precompiled Nmap binary.
Q: Do I need root?
A: No! You can use this program with or without root, although there are a few advantages to having root. I've seen a few problems with -O for Operating System fingerprinting (this would happen on desktop Linux as well). Non-root users will usually need to use the --system-dns argument.
Q: What's up with Atrix?
A: I don't know why, but this program has never worked with the Motorola Atrix, despite extensive efforts toward compatibility.
Q: Is NSE supported?
A: No, NSE/LUA are not supported for now, but it's definitely on the radar for a future revision. Some command-line arguments will not be available until then.
Prerequisites: rooted phone and busybox installed.
You also need to have about 5.5Mb free on your /system partition.
To use MC, you need to either have an SSH server on your phone (for example DroidSSHd) and connect using Putty from your PC, or you can use the Terminal Emulator (please see attached screenshots).
Any terminal emulator application works given that it supports "screen" as terminal type.
The price is payed for the installer and the effort to have MC cross-compiled for Android, since MC is distributed under GPL license. Put in a different way, you are just buying me a beer for making it easier for you to have MC on your phone!
If you get an error related to "tar: invalid tar magic", please try upgrading your busybox (if you do leave a comment here or on the support page, please mention the version of busybox that you are using). Very few persons have this issue, and it helps a lot while trying to figure out the problems.
In this application, the available hash functions are : Adler-32, CRC-32, Haval-128, MD2, MD4, MD5, RIPEMD-128, RIPEMD-160, SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-384, SHA-512, Tiger and Whirlpool.
The calculated hash can be copied to the clipboard to be reused elsewhere.
The first tab enables to calculate the hash of a given string.
The second tab helps you to compute the hash of a file located on the internal or external memory of your device. The size of the file and the last date modified are also displayed.
The last feature helps you to compare the calculated hash with another given hash but more generally, you can compare any hashes by just pasting them.
A hash (also called checksum or digest) is a digital fingerprint, uniquely identifying a string or a file.
Hash functions are often used in cryptography to generate strong passwords. They are also employed to check the integrity of files.
Hash Droid is often used to check an Android ROM before flashing it.

YawADB configures a rooted Android device for wireless access through Android Debug Bridge (ADB) without using USB cable connection. It can be launched either as an application (backward compatible up to Android 1.0), or as a widget (compatible up to API 1.5, the first release featuring application widgets).
YawADB is designed to be self aware and keep the information current. It can be configured to periodically re-check the status, but even if the refresh is disabled or infrequent, the application still tries its best to bring up-to-time feedback.

Release a pay-what-you-want model, so more time can be put into this. Now in place. Decide whether it should be mandatory.
Minimize the performance effect of the tricks used to make this all work. Quite good now.
Move as much as possible to the sdcard.
Only install what is necessary and let the user grow it from there.
Support multiple architectures:
Only arm supported. No reason why MIPS and x86 cannot be supported too.
The roots mostly contain GPL code, but for this launcher I am the copyright holder and it is not under the GPL, but instead the Apache v2. It contains a modified version of the Android Terminal Emulator, which is also under the Apache v2.

Wifi Fixer is a background service that works around several problems with Android wifi, including: Wifi shows connected but internet data not available Known network in range but not detected Best network not used Supplicant frozen Supplicant in (likely by heuristic) failure state
Apps can’t prevent disconnections or boost low signals.
Wifi Fixer will detect and attempt recovery when these problems are detected.
You can tune your Wifi Acess Point's settings to minimize disconnections. Please refer to Wifi Fixer’s help documents for more information.
