This app could be awesome if only the audiobook player was up to par with either audible or overdrives players. You need to be able to increase playback speed without compromising pitch. It also loses it place and goes back to either the beginning of the chapter or most likely what it ends up doing is going all the way back to the beginning of the book. This is a deal breaker for me, and I will probably not continue with premium after the one week trial is up.
When I was a child I made a transistor radio and an antenna of wire around a cereal box. I then listened to AM radio from the USA off of bounce signals. It brought the world to me on our Northern Canada homestead. Now TuneIn does the same for the world. Any child with Internet can discover the world far better than I was able. That gives me hope that we will have a future where people know and respect each other.
Worst customer service ever. Signed up for the free trial. At the end of the trial was charged the yearly rate instead of the monthly rate. Contacted customer service and was told that there wasn't anything they were willing to do. I'm not trying to screw them over. Sure, charge me a month. I should have cancelled sooner. Charging an entire year's subscription when you offer it monthly is bad business and they're screwing their customers. I cannot say it enough, bad business practices.
The promise of unlimited audiobooks drew me to this and I tried it out. One of the most basic features needed for audiobooks is playback speed control (without affecting pitch). Apps like Listen and Smart audiobook players have that and TuneIn doesn't. It's a deal-breaker for me. Unsubscribed immediately
I have been using Tune-in since forever. Now that I have a semi-smart phone ( or at least know how to use it ) I use Tune-in even more on my semi-smart phone. So don't tune out Tune-in for one of those over marketed and insistent companies. Get more for less with Tune-In.
I rated this app 5 stars before because it's been the very standard in online radio apps, however in the last update things changed. before I could swipe the now playing screen to the left and it would show the recently used channels. Now that is gone. Please bring the swipe option back! I'm not gonna change the 5 stars because imo this is the best app I've found to listen to local or national shows during work, and I don't want to make it look like it's not good. I do hope and would love to see that one feature brought back tho!!! Or at least a quick way to access the recent channels. Thanks tunein you're the best!!!!
