I would give this a higher rating as I have used it for a year. But this last month it started downloading ads in the background while the app is shut off and closed out while I am at work. It used 853mb of data and I had only used the app 13 times that month as I'm on midnight shift. I did a factory reset on my phone incase of any other issues. After reinstalling it used 35mb in one day without even opening the app to use it so I deleted it. Whatever they are doing since the last update it is eating my data and I'm not paying overage charges for their ads.
This app is terrible now, the update introduced more ads and some weird lock screen overlay also a random button. My battery life is now terrible. GTFO of here with this ads stuff. I'm going to have to root my phone now. HTC is really bad at making decisions, who would they allow you guys to do this. You guys also don't even respond to the bad comments, this is a trash company.
So much potential, but so frustrating. Use this regularly at work and would gladly pay 12 dollars a year for the features. But the ads and their settings are obnoxious and intrusive, ESPECIALLY for a PAID subscription. Paid and STILL a 30 day mute? Also, once downloaded, the guide should be stored locally and load immediately.
I hope you all are getting the message. No one likes the adds. I had you @ 5 stars at one time. You ever came up with the idea of having full pop up adds, needs a new line of work because that sucks!! That is a horrible idea and make the user experience very bad. Please fix
Its found my TVs i have tried to setup and works as intend. Recent updates have increased the ads to a ridiculous level. Would much prefer to pay a couple of $$ to go ad free. UPDATE: ads are getting worse. Please give option to pay to remove. New update. Well they gave an ad free version unfortunately it is a monthy subscription. Not quiet spending a couple of $$ up front to get rid of ads. The bitter sweetfeeling of getting what you want but not as expected
Peel Smart Remote used to be good, but recently has become a cesspool of advertisements. You can disable these for up to 30 days, but they expect you to do this every 30 days or pay a subscription of $1 per month. Don't pay for bad development practices. Look for other IR Remote apps instead. I am now using AnyMote because I refuse to support this terrible approach of annoying the user into giving greedy developers money.
