Review from Jim Arnold
Galaxy Nexus/Note 10.1 Works well with DirecTV through WiFi on the Nexus. The Note 10.1 IR version of the app has issues controlling the sound bar audio component. It will turn it on/off but volume controls the TV instead of the assigned audio component. Support was no help resolving the issue when I emailed. Overall the app is good.
It works, but sooo many ads! It works well as a remote and I understand ads are necessary to keep it free, but this app has an absolutely ridiculous amount of pop up ads. They pop up in the middle of changing volume or channel, just way too much. Very annoying.
Very good multipurpose and quick app. While negatives are A. Everyday some updates means u have so many bugs . B. Ads are disturbing , let's keep minimum price for app without adds.
The remote is great. I just need a subtitles button option on the DVD for DVD movies that that are not in a language I understand. Can someone assist?
I have used this app infrequently in the past, mostly for a secondhand bluray player that I got with no remote. This app has gotten increasingly intrusive over the past year or two. Hated the notifications, so I silenced them through Android settings, since the app made it difficult to disable them entirely. Finally uninstalling because of the Silent Mode nag prompt that comes up frequently due to my Do Not Disturb schedules that silence only notifications for certain periods of time. Also noticed excessive permissions are requested by this app.
App ties up your phone with banners, and silent mode cautions. Basically can't use your phone until you clear the silent mode cautions. Fix that, I fix the review.
Hijacked my lock screen with ads. Very hard to disable and figure out which app caused it. Pure garbage.
