The app is easy to use, light, and does not necessarily need location permission since besides its geo-positioning function to automatically detect the location, it also has the option to search for the city manually and it is battery friendly with no noticeable RAM or storage usage!

Pixel Weather Widgets app retrieves its weather data from the openweathermap.org which is a very accurate weather provider. The app gets the current temperature and current humidity in a variety of different widgets.

Ratings and reviews

The widgets look great, and updates current weather, but does not follow my location. Even when I have notifications turned on in the app, and follow my location enabled. At the system level, Android said notifications are blocked, with no way to unblock them, so I don't think this app is set up to request the correct permissions from the OS.

I've been using this app for years with mixed results BUT I have to say the update they released in April 2026 is a game changer . Customization is way better and at least so far the widget seems to be automatically updating properly which is something a lot of weather widgets seem to struggle with . Anyway so far so good. Will update this review if anything changes

I am writing to express my frustration regarding the latest update to your app. Since it was released, the app has been completely broken and is no longer working properly on any device. It crashes constantly and is simply unusable. I have already reported this issue, yet no action has been taken so far.
