Play erry day Great app, no lag, multi-player (local) option. Also an option to check ur statistics. I play on hard & have ended up with more doubles than the comp, though I know it feels unfair sometimes. It really doesn't cheat though. Paid for this version b/c of ads on the free one. Will consider getting other games from them, like euchre.
Does cheat At level 5 it throws an incredible amount of perfect rolls, getting the exact numbers on each die it needs. I have thrown pieces out just to see if they get hit and they almost always do, even if there is a 1-in-6 chance. Otherwise a great game.
Changed algorithm now terrible On level 5 the dice rolls are not random. If you sit in wait, hoping to hit the CPU's pieces it just rolls an unreal number of doubles that allow it to get into its home quarter and bear off.
Good Challenge Refreshing to play a backgammon game that provides a decent challenge without resorting to cheap cheats. It has great user features, a clean interface and maintains a brisk game flow. A great way to lose a few hours. The logic with the doubling cube could use some work.. The AI has a habit of accepting doubles it shouldn't (ie, it has a significant pip advantage but is trapped in my inner table) which I've exploited a few times but otherwise nearly flawless.
Seems like it cheats, but really it doesn't! I only play at Level 5 (the hardest) and almost always only lose if I'm not focused on my own checker play. Otherwise, the AI is beat-able, tho tricky. I think players who always "remember" the useless doubles they get (and/or the favorable doubles the AI gets) would almost always have "forgotten" the useful doubles they themselves have rolled. I've never played tournaments before and I'm wondering if anyone's tournament play have improved after continually playing and beating AI players. Just wondering.
Frustrating Whatever algorithm the developer claims to be using is rubbish. It should be impossible to be able to predict a "random" move so consistently....right??
