1. threatened squares: Displays the status of each piece on the board. A red square means that the piece is under attack and not sufficiently defended, or that it is being attacked by a piece of lesser value. This is usually a pretty serious danger signal and means you must take active measures to avoid losing a piece. Yellow means that the piece is under attack, but it is just sufficiently defended. You must be careful about removing any defending piece. Green means the piece has enemy contact but is well defended. Usually it is okay to remove a defending piece.
I haven't tried out many chess games on GooglePlay but this has to be by the far the best I've played. You can play it offline and it's very easy to understand. I love how I can play with my friends or challenge myself with a computer that has vairous levels of difficulty. I am a beginner for sure and the CPU is definitely the best human and machine component I've played. However, I have actually learned alot from playing this game and it's very addictive. Five stars for me!
Good chess app. Very difficult at higher stages for me. However, it is inconsistent and falls for some cheap moves. I struggle to beat level 4, yet I beat level 6 with ease. I beat level 8 with a very simple knight-queen checkmate in less than 15 moves. I think the chess program needs to have more knowledge about attacking positions because when I am one move from a checkmate, it is not the right move to move your bishop forward.
LOVED THIS GAME This game os very intresting. Its intresting features like tutor guided me nicely. I won more than 5 times. Even though I am just a learner now I can get rid of my father who is a national player.
Every level plays the same and it's very strong so won't be much help for beginners. My rating is around 1700 and I still lose games to even level 5. Only difference is between level 5 or 6 makes sometimes makes stupid moves like blundering a pawn or a piece and then it's returns to play like level 12.
Some people say level 12 is easy?! I must be really bad at chess cause I can't get past level 4. This is one of the best chess apps I gave played. Started out playing ChessMaster back in the 80s, and was able to beat it on much higher levels. Seriously considering paying for the ad-free version, and this would make the third Android app I have purchased since I got my first smart phone. Thanks for a great app, one that I plan to keep.
- Book greatly improved after new fix.
