About this game

★ Top Developer (awarded 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2015) ★
Google Play's strongest Go/Baduk program! To coincide with the AlphaGo - Sedol match, AI Factory has released a substantially updated product. This new version has been 3 years in preparation and improves the top play strength by 10 grades from 8 kyu to 3 dan. This is based on the new Aya program, which was the winner of the KGS World Computer Go Championship November 2014 and EGC Computer Go Tournament 2015. It is consequently a substantially bigger program, but offers much more.

With its rich strategy and simple rules, the ancient game of Go (Wei-chi/Baduk) is widely regarded as the ultimate thinking game. This product will allow you to learn and master this game!

- Full 9x9, 13x13 games (19x19 limited to 180 moves. Paid version allows whole game)
- 10 Difficulty levels from 18 Kyu to 3 Dan
- Aya Go Engine (International Gold Medallist)
- 2 Player Hotseat
- Go Rules, Handicaps. Chinese and Japanese rules supported.
- Hints at 1 Dan level to help you develop.
- Help includes a walk-through and links to teaching resources.
- Designed for both Tablet and Phone

This free version is supported by 3rd party ads. Ads may use internet connectivity, and therefore subsequent data charges may apply. The photos/media/files permission is required to allow the game to save game data to external storage, and is sometimes used to cache ads.

I find this app to be uninviting to people wanting to learn Go. Rather than a tutorial, there are paragraphs listed in the "How to Play" portion of the main menu that tell the reader how to place a piece and some gameplay tips, leading to a button at the bottom of the page that guides you to an actual set of rules, which are also paragraphs long, that you must memorize in order to understand anything about the gameplay. So far, I have read the majority of the rules and played a few games on difficulty level 1, 1 being the easiest level of difficulty, and still have not been able to defeat the AI opponent. I am not saying this is a bad application of Go, I am merely disappointed by the creator's decisions.

Thank you for letting us know how you feel. You can learn the game by simply playing games against a low level cpu player on 9x9 board and using hint(?) to suggest moves and undo to try out different strategies. The external links in How To Play have more in-depth information on gameplay.

Really good app. I'm still not 100% sure about all the rules, but it's one of the most complex games ever, so it's reasonable. The ads aren't intrusive, but they do turn my music down instead of pausing it, which I hate because then I miss some of my song.

Please go to Menu, How To Play for basic info and visit the url addresses halfway down How To Play and at the bottom of Go Rules as well as https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Go_(game) to find out how to play this ancient and beautiful game. Sorry about the ad behaviour. Unfortunately this is controlled by ad networks. Paid version has no ads.

Good app... I was able to learn the basics! I managed to beat the computer 2 times out of 25 games in 2days! So I'm happy. now i can practice without being so clueless 🙄 😒 My goal is to have 100 games a month for 6months! and learn off youtube while I practice... After 6 months, I will do another 6months of In-depth study, increasing my game play from 100 games a month to 200 games a month 100 vs PC and additional 100 games against online players. Goal: 1 year self teaching. Then Go!
