Getting started
Whether you’re an existing or new Metro Bank customer it’s simple to get started.
- If you’re registered for online and telephone banking, you’ll need your 12 digit customer number, 8 digit security number and your password
- If you’re not registered for either, you’ll need your 12 digit customer number and the details of the card you used most recently or your Magic Word.

Metro Bank’s mobile app is available for Personal customers and also Business customers if they’re using Business Internet Banking only.

Having an issue where all icons for interaction are at the bottom of the screen, but my navigation overlays it. Some buttons I can press if I find the few pixels, but I've just tried to update my address and I can't type in the code sent to me because the 0 is totally covered. (The code as auto copied from SMS said it was incorrect, so I wanted to try manually, but now I'm one attempt from lockout.) Scratch that - updated and this is finally fixed! I'm still gonna wait before trying again.

The app has awful support, when I call their direct number for support, after a minute of a pre-recorded useless, unstoppable message, I get stuck on an AI chat bot which doesn't understand basic things. I ask to speak to a human 5 times and when it finally transfers me, I'm on hold forever and can never get through. My account is still locked because of this and I'll have to go into the bank when I've got time to solve my issue.

I just noticed for the first time, that it doesn't display the time of transactions, only the date. Which is also true of their paper statements. This is really annoying, so I have deducted a star. Otherwise, it does everything you want from a banking app(almost). Just paid a bill, it took only seconds 😊 Shame it doesn't allow you to view statements; you have to go online for this. Haven't needed to go to my local branch in years šŸ˜€
