I love the app but I totally agree with David Board from 3 May 2025. "Just frustrating when updates bring problems. I'm getting automatic activity tracking (even though I have it disabled ), the compass lock to north keeps coming off when I open the app, and fuzzy maps or blank areas even though I have downloaded the area and route for offline. Really disappointing."

OS maps are the British standard and are a must for any outdoor person using navigation. I have used paper maps for years and it's easy to use the app alongside these with the benefit of GPS (always take a paper map as well though). Dropped a star because the route creating does some very strange things when you let it follow tracks, which should be the intuitive way to use it. Very frustrating. But app is good overall

I pay for premium membership to use the extra features of this app, like downloading routes to my device, but it is almost useless as it constantly shuts in the background and you only realise when you go back to it to check the next waypoint. Features like downloading a route and recording your trip are useless if you need to keep restarting every 10 minutes. On a hike right now and in what I think is 2 miles (hard to tell as the tracking has stopped twice) it's restarted 5 times already.
