This is not a Pedometer (although it does track steps ).

A history is retained for the most recent 25 walks. Maps are provided for the current walk and
for all walks retained in History.
Note to users: Once you have started a walk it is OK to use the back button or home button to get out of the application. The application will continue to run in the background provided you have not stopped the walk. In addition, locking the screen will not affect the functioning of the application.

Google Maps ( v2 ) has been integrated into the application to provide a detailed view of each walk.
The Map type is selectable from the Map options menu. Street, Satellite and Hybrid views are supported.
Opening a map during a walk will display the path since the walk started.
Having a map available makes it easy to check on side roads and select new routes and paths to explore.
While viewing the map the statistics from the main pages are displayed in a transparent overlay at the top of the screen. The statistics and map path are updated periodically as data is received from the GPS.
Green and Red markers indicate the beginning and end points for the walk.
On the lower right hand side of the screen cardinal direction and degrees are displayed. This display is derived from the GPS system. When you change direction it may take a little while for the display to change to reflect the new course.
The slowest 1/4 of the total distance walked is highlighted with an red/orange line. This allows the walk to identify places where they are not maintaining pace.
The History screen presents a list of walks that have been completed. Currently the last 25 walks are retained. Older walks age off and are automatically deleted.
The list is organized in descending order by time.
Each item in the list shows a snapshot history of a specific walk. This includes all of the information originally displayed on the main screen of the application.
Tapping on an item in the list will open a Map display that shows the route taken during the walk.
Steps are based on the average number of steps taken while walking one mile.
Most phone pedometers are based on the use of an Accelerometer. Depending on where the phone is carried this method can be highly inaccurate.
The number of steps walked in a mile is defaulted to 2500.
This value may be changed from the options menu ( Steps )
"Calibrate Steps" allows you to calibrate this value by walking 100 steps.
Tap the Calibrate button ( which will change to display "Done" ). Walk 100 steps in a more or less straight line and then tap "Done". The number displayed will change.
This value may also be entered manually by tapping on the number display.
Calories are calculated based on distance traveled for a person of average height and weight.
This calculation is based on weight and pace. The weight used may be changed from
the Calories screen.
The export function allows you to send an email with all of some of your walking data.
The data is sent in CSV format ( Comma Separated Values ). The data embedded in the body of the email, but may also be sent in an attachment.
This application contains one small advertisement at the bottom of the main screen. If you don't
like the advertisements but otherwise like the application there will shortly be a Paid version of the application that does not have any advertisements.

Although “Fitness Walking” is a free application, user may be charged by their mobile network service provider on the user of data service. These charges can be very expensive on roaming. Please ensure that the option of “Data Roaming” have been disabled in the mobile phone settings.
The estimated location provided by the mobile device may deviate from your actual location. Meanwhile, owing to the dissimilarity in altitude and topography between your location and the Fitness Walking track, the information displayed may be different from the actual conditions.
In addition, calorie consumption according to the moving distance is also displayed.
