Brilliant! When you lose data signal the app starts playback as soon as you are back online. You are not a not bombarded with ads. When via car Bluetooth I can use the steering wheel controls to skip though my chosen favourite stations. When I get out the car and get back in the radio starts again automatically. If I switch to a different input the app will automatically pause playback to save data, but it restarts when you go back to Bluetooth. Top radio app for sure.
An excellent app with its fast station changing that can be improved for me by, (1) option to display station Favourites as something like 4x4 logo tiles with current station info and player controls at the bottom, and/or even maybe a fast Widget option offering the same. (2) Implement/allow audio ducking/fading for SatNav; all other audio apps do. (3) Significantly reduce the SLOW app loading time of 4-6 seconds.
I really like the app, I use it as a daily alarm and at night as I go to sleep (on timer). There is a terrific range of radio stations and with the flexibility of the favourites, it is easy to navigate. Not only is the app good, but the response of the developer to a simple question was quick and clear. For those of you who have the issue where the daily alarm did not activate, here is the answer from the developer & is based on the Samsung S7 edge -- Newer versions of Android have battery saving features which prevent apps running in the background for long periods of time. It's likely that the app was stopped as a result of this. It is possible to whitelist the Radioplayer app in the Android Settings app so that it doesn't not perform battery optimisation, and allows the app to run. -- The setting I changed was in the battery optimisation setting and the advanced menu (in Android 7.0) Great App and great service from the dev!
The best radio app on Android. My commute involves travelling through patchy signal at times and although the audio drops occasionally because of this, the app recovers as soon as sufficient signal is available. It's also great because you are not bombarded with adverts, like some of the other radio apps out there.
It's generally very good and brilliant not to have to carry a DAB radio around. I also like to listen to news from other parts to see what's happening. My only beef is the radio has been cutting out in the last few days. Very annoying if I am listening to an important sports match.
It's a bit buggy using this app through android auto running on my phone. Streaming can just go stuttery even when you are in good signal area. A force stop of radio player fixes the issue. Also when using radio player at home after its been used via android auto, I am unable to change channels, it's locked to same channel I was playing in the car. Again have to force stop the app to make it work properly again. Please investigate.
