Latest update ignores key presses if you have another app that uses "display over other apps", otherwise it's fine. I had to turn off my screen dimmer. I keep finding features that would make my banking so much easier if I used them. The "recent transactions" list now says what kind of money movement, "dd" or "so" or whatever, and options to split bills, send money and so on are more intuitive. There's less use of jargon, though you still have to think about what they mean from time to time.
Time to switch! Santander's app is very slow, and unresponsive. Santander charge a £5 (net) monthly fee to earn 1.5% (gross) when RPI inflation is 3.6%. Santander use insecure SMS verification systems, and are reluctant to refund customers who get scammed. Bank of Scotland have a great app, pay 2% on £15k and don't charge a monthly fee.
Haven't had any issues until today. The app has always worked perfectly and was very handly especially when needing to transfer money quickly. Unfortunately something seems to have gone wrong. It's like the touch screen doesnt work but its only on that app. Doesnt fill me with confidence about moving money if i dont know if its going to work or not!
There is a bug where if you are running any apps that have the 'display over other apps' enabled then the Santander app doesn't register taps properly so you can't interact with the interface. Examples are apps that lower the brightness/colour of the screen at night, so I can't use the app when the sun goes down...
Not bad overall. Every time I make a payment and amend the reference it throws an error when I ok the OTP, although it actually does change the reference. I have to cancel out and start the transaction again to compete the payment. Two stars as been an issue for a while with no fix, and typically of these vast multinationals no easy way to report issues back to Santander. Edit: can't put more than about 6 characters in payee reference field. Have to use a browser to do this. Makes the app of limited use
Great little app which enables me to see my bank balance and do funds transfers. Very reliable and easy to use. I know that a number of people have reported that they found it slow but I can't say I have found that. I don't set up new payments on it so perhaps the performance problems are with that part of it.
