Good journalism and variety of content Easy to navigate. Fast responses. Complete articles. Brilliantly presented.
No pictures App does not pre download pictures which completely ruins using it while travelling on the tube or when flying. (Update - Can you rather not just share the required settings? Other apps like the Economist have no problems like this.)
So unreliable, no decent search The Times app 3.8.1 and previous versions regularly crashes, especially on Sundays. The advice to reload the app does not help. The web site designers should study how the Guardian site is designed - much less flabby, quicker to load and reliable. This is a very poor app for a paid-for service.
Terrible electronic service The app won't even open now. And cancelled sub to the Sunday Times with six weeks still to run on my sub - but the service was cut off straight away. Trying to login leads only to subscription offers. Not able to read what I have paid for even on the emailed summary. A ripoff of a newspaper. Don't waste your money.
Pretty good Best thing about the app is that it downloads a full news paper edition very quickly each day with some updates during the day. Which means that you dont have to be connected to the internet to read the articles which is good if you have spotty signal as in oxford. The next best thing is that being a news paper app rather than news feed app you get full in depth well written articles (i like The Times in particular as most of the journalism is relatively unbiased or can be opinions from the left or right)
Article saving bug fix.
