1 star better than the tablet version Congratulations the phone version is better than the tablet version, so I have given you 2 starts which demonstrates just how bad the apps are
The worst UX of any news app. The journalism is good, however the comment section is appalling, suffering from the Murdoch bias. Should learn from the Guardian and BBC, and have a range of columnists which differing views
Goals doesn't always work... Got this app as part of my Sunday Times subscription. I pay less for this and the iPad version of the Times than I would if I just bought the paper so it's reasonable value. I just wish goals would work though - I nearly always get an error message when trying to view despite being in the UK and having a valid subscription. Have complained but only get advised to restart the app...
Hard to believe this app is still this bad After a 'download' you find that content is still unavailable. For example, if you've downloaded the day's edition you have to be online again to download a crossword puzzle. And once you've downloaded it, if you leave the app and come back into it later the puzzle is unavailable unless you connect again! Completely useless if you are a commuter. Videos are also frequently unavailable. Oh, and did I mention that you only get a fraction of the content that appears in the paper copy of the newspaper!
Goal Videos won't play "Unable to access video or not authorised in your location" as this is a major part of the sales pitch and bearing in mind we pay for this it's a joke.updated. now the highlights work this is a good app. Lets hope they continue to work. The original error has returned. Not reliable, not good enough .
Goals videos now don't work The Goals videos did work until a few weeks ago, but since March Goals videos fail until the following day. After 24hours they become viewable. I raised this two weeks ago with the online chat team, who confirmed they didn't work for them either. But still no fix or explanation! Considering how they pushed this facility when promoting the app, it doesn't say much for The Times customer service.
