This App has its clumsy elements and HM Revenue & Customs isn't exactly prompt about updating your tax record, but this does make it a little easier to see where you stand and get some help, at least. Some of the sections open Web Pages while others have the data within the App, so it's a bit disjointed. the Communications tab at the bottom has three different types of communication each with its own sub-section but this isn't much of an issue in practice.

Terrible login experience. I've never been able to log in. It takes me to a browser to log in, which is fine. Then once I've done that returns me to the app to sign in with my pass code. Then it takes me back to the browser "tax.service.gov.uk/sso/session..." , which never loads, and then back to the app and asks me to enter my pass code again. All a vicious circle. Tried multiple browsers. Nothing.

The app is better than the website where you are lost in a world of gateway codes, unique taxpayer references, etc but I wish app developers would just try out the app themselves. I owe hmrc the princely sum of £3.95 and want to pay by card. I enter my address and all the other details manually unlike any retail site or app. Then I have to authorise the payment in my bank app - fine. So to do that I navigate to my bank app - and I'm signed out of hmrc! literally impossible to make a payment.
